Frequently Asked Questions
If this is your first yoga class, we are happy you are here! At FLY, we offer many classes for beginners. Our instructors hold a safe space for our students, carefully guiding them through each pose and proper posture alignment. Our goal at FLY is to help you find movement, strength and balance both on and off the mat. Start with a drop-in class or try our new student special!
Plan to arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the start of class. Arriving late is distracting to both the students and the instructor and can alter the energy in the space.
If you are not able to stay for the entire duration of class, please let the instructor know prior the starting. You should leave quietly before Shavasana begins.
Shoes, jackets and other belongings must be stored in the cubbies safely outside of the studios.
Cellphones are not permitted in the studios. Please make sure phones are on silent or turned off while stored in cubbies.
Be sure to bring your own mat. In the event you forgot your mat, the front desk staff can provide you with a rental that must be returned at the end of class. Avoid stepping on other students’ mat.
Avoid wearing heavy scented perfume or cologne, as this can be distracting to other students and the instructor.
Please avoid chatter during class with other students. Questions or comments must only be directed at the instructor in a quiet manner.
After class, please wipe down your mat and other used props with disinfecting wipes
Inform the instructor prior to class if you have any injuries, ailments or other physical issues.
Dress comfortably for all classes. Fitted, stretchy or loose clothing is acceptable. Avoid wearing jeans or other constricting clothing.
Please bring your own mat to class. If you have forgotten your mat, the front desk staff can provide you with a rental that must be returned at the end of class.
We encourage you to stay hydrated during class. In the event you forgot a water bottle, feel free to fill up at our complementary water & tea station.
If you are attending a hot or heated class, be sure to bring a towel with you. Towels will not be provided at the studio.
We understand that our world is still fighting the ongoing presence of the Covid-19 virus. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We want everyone at Free Living Yoga to stay happy, healthy and well.
Here at Free Living Yoga, we respect all individuals’ choices and we welcome all to our space. The purpose of our studio is for people to disengage with the outside world and focus inward.
We understand that everyone’s comfortability with wearing a mask is different and we want to honor that. It is up to each student and instructor if he/she prefers or does not prefer to wear a face covering.
If you are not feeling well, have a fever, sneezing and/or coughing, we ask that you do not come to class. If a student comes to class and is coughing, sneezing or seems under the weather, our FLY instructor has the right to ask that student to leave.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding Covid-19 and our Studio Policies, please contact Lindsay Whitford (FLY Studio Owner).

Some of these benefits include:

- Boosts metabolism for greater calorie burn and aids digestion
- Can improve cardiovascular function
- Helps relieve body aches, pains and advances muscle recovery
- Improves sleep, relieves stress and reduces fatigue
- Purifies the skin due to increased blood
Not ready to try Hot Yoga? Try our heated classes. We offer Heated Yoga & Heated Pilates in a studio warmed to 80-degrees.
Please bring your own towel to all hot and heated classes. Towels will not be provided at the studio.
Barre combines ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and strength training. This practice is designed to sculpt and strengthen the physical body through multiple repetitions of small range movements while connecting to the breath. Movement is incorporated at both the barre & mat. Small weights, resistance bands, Pilate balls and other props are used throughout this 45-minute format.
Pilates is a low-impact class that focuses on building total body strength and flexibility through controlled movements and breath work. This practice helps with postural alignment, core conditioning and balance. Resistance bands, Pilate balls, Pilate rings and other props are used throughout this 45-minute format.
